Emily's New Dog

Emily has adopted her new dog - Murphy. He comes from the Franklin County Animal Shelter, where he was serving his second (and hopefully last) sentance. The shelter is packed full of dogs who all go crazy when they think someone is going to let them out of the cage. Murphy seemed a little calmer than most.

Murphy is about two and half years old and he's a mixed breed. We think he definately has German Shepherd in him and his face resembles a Beegle. Emily imagines that he even has Retriever, Chiwawa and Greyhound in him. He is very active, very friendly and very people oriented. He seems to really crave people attention, especially compared to Lina, who is quite independant.

Murphy has adjusted well to our home. He's still learning our rules and I think he is still a little anxious and out of sorts being in a new setting. He and Lina play a lot, but in very good ways. He is crate trained and housebroken. Mostly he is very sweet and wanting your attention.

Here's our new house ... unfortunately, the furniture is not ours.

We found some old photos.

In moving we found two old rolls of undeveloped film - of Christmas 2006. We were wondering why we didn't have any photos of that particular holiday. It's interesting to note how different the kids look in only a year and a half. You can see more of the photos over to the right.

Our Move

We moved earlier this week from hour house to a 2 bedroom apartment. With just some small hiccups, we closed on our house after a year of being on the market. On Monday the movers came to pack. Four guys spent about six hours packing everything up. Then on Tuesday they arrived early to load everything into the two 20' portable storage units sitting in our driveway. It took another full day. In the end, almost all of our stuff fit. We had to deliver some of it to a neighbor's house and some of it to Gary and Aubre's.

Now, we're settled into our apartment at MTSO. It's nice enough, though small. Emily and Alan didn't want to share a bedroom, so we had to be creative about use of space (see below).

It's amazing how much junk we had - and they moved it all.
At home in the new living room.
Alan in his cubby - the closet under the stairs. Notice that he's reading Harry Potter.

Memorial Day Football Play

Alan goes in for the touchdown as Alan and Dad win on the final play! Poor Uncle Gary is left behind on the ground and Aunt Aubre whifs on the potential game saving tackle.
